A local community is preparing for a spooky weekend.
Evans City is hosting a series of Hallo-Weekends throughout this month beginning with a Living Dead Weekend October 9th through 11th.
The Butler County borough is offering tours, arts, crafts, fireworks, a scavenger hunt, a car cruise, movie screenings and celebrity appearances as they commemorate the movie Night of the Living Dead. The George Romero movie was filmed in Evans City in 1968.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony for a historical marker is scheduled for 4 p.m. Friday. Admission to most of the events offered is free. For more information, visit evanscityhalloweekends.us.
