Evans City will begin celebrating Halloween Friday with its Hallo-weekends.
Of course, it all kicks off with “The Living Dead” weekend, which runs through Sunday, October 11, 2015. Expect movie screenings, film location tours, celebrity appearances, a “Pet Walk of the Dead” a costume contest, a ghoul scavenger hunt, fireworks, and more.
Kevin Kriess, owner of the Night of the Living Death Museum on South Main Street in Evans City, told our newsroom that the events kicks off with the official ribbon-cutting ceremony of the destination location for visitors and fans of the movie Night of the Living Dead. This is a grassy area with historical markers adjacent to the library in downtown Evans City. This area celebrates the town’s role in the 1968 George Romero classic film.
Pumpkin carving and a Trunk or Treat event is on October 24th with the Halloween Parade and more Trick-or-Treating the last week of October.
