As Evans City and Seven Fields consider the future of their regional police department, they are exploring separate agreements with different police departments in the area.
According to the Borough of Seven Fields, understaffing issues have led them to enter into “final discussions” about partnerships with two unnamed local agencies. Borough officials will inform residents when a formal decision is made later this summer.
A separate press release from Evans City Borough has called for action to hold Seven Fields leaders accountable for what they call “mismanagement” leading to inadequate staffing. Evans City went on to state that they are also “exploring partnerships” for police services.
Both municipalities emphasized that PA State Police and neighboring departments are providing coverage to maintain public safety until a long term solution is achieved.
The Borough of Seven Fields next meeting is expected to take place June 26th while Evans City Borough will hold an agenda setting meeting on June 28th.
