The man who left an Armstrong County Jail last year has been found guilty of first degree murder.
A jury found Robert Crissman Jr guilty of multiple charges after authorities say he left the jail in July of 2015 and strangled 55-year-old Tammy Long in her home. He will serve life in prison.
Crissman was in jail for violating parole on a drug conviction and working as a trustee when he left the facility looking for a vehicle to steal.
Reforms have been enacted at the jail and Long’s children still have a wrongful death suit pending against Armstrong County and the former warden.
