Eric Paslay performed a handful of songs, including “Less Than Whole,” in Washington, DC on Thursday (September 24th) while Pope Francis was in town. He got the gig thanks to his producer, Marshall Altman, and he was the only artist to represent Country music. Colbie Caillat was also among the performers.
Eric spoke with a Washington D.C. area radio station about the honor of performing for the pope. He said: “When we got the call it was like, ‘Hey, do you wanna come play when the pope’s in town?’ It was like, ‘Uh, let me check,’ cause we do have a busy schedule so I’m glad that it lined up where we somehow had this day off. It’s rare that there’s a Thursday off, and I think we’re all created equal and we all have our own paths and he even addressed that — like, we all have our own role each day in this world and it’s cool that he’s making the best of what God’s allowed him to be. It’s pretty cool. It’s kind of wild. It’s cool that we got to kind of ride the ‘pope tails,’ but it was a really special day and I’m still kind of just soaking it in right now.”
Eric recently released his new single, “High Class,” which will be on his upcoming album due out next yea
