Eric Church surprised fans and the music industry when he quietly released a new album on Wednesday (November 4th). The singer rewarded all 80-plus thousand members of his Church Choir fan club with their very own free copy of Mr. Misunderstood, which they received in the mail. The 10-song album is the followup to his The Outsiders CD, which he released last year.Mr. Misunderstood was available on iTunes as of yesterday (Thursday, November 5th).
Eric’s album was accompanied by a hand-written letter when it was distributed to media in the press room at Wednesday night’s CMA Awards. The singer noted that he wrote his first song for this project late this summer. Eric wrote, “20 days later I had 18 songs. 20 days following that I had 10 recorded. That was 30 days ago. It always takes me time to look for inspiration to make a new album. This time inspiration came looking for me. Together we found Mr. Misunderstood . . . ”
