A program to help low-income Pennsylvanians save on energy bills has a lot more funding available.
According to U.S. Senator Bob Casey, the Department of Energy is providing $186 million to families in Pennsylvania through the Weatherization Assistance Program.
The Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act provided the program with this large funding pipeline after only $18 million was available to state residents last year.
Thousands of homes owned by low-income residents will be able to be made more energy efficient through improved insulation and more efficient heating and cooling systems as well as upgraded electrical appliances.
