Emily Brittain Elementary Community Partnership and Demonstration School will say goodbye to their principal while the Butler Area School District will turn to a familiar face to be the next top administrator.
Earlier this week, the Butler School Board approved the resignation of Cassandra Pencek in June as she has accepted a position as an educational consultant. Pencek began at Butler in July of 2019.
Current Middle School co-Principal Joshua Hundertmark will transfer to Emily Brittain to take on the leadership role once the Middle School closes at the end of this school year. The district originally planned for Hundertmark to shift to a co-Principal position at Center Township Elementary School but now that position will be open for hire.
Emily Brittain is located in the city of Butler and currently serves about 250 students in grades kindergarten through fourth but will also take on fifth graders starting next year, as all Butler elementary schools will.
