Issues in need of attention at the Butler Area School District- including a failing roof- are being brought to light as part of an agreement with a familiar company.
The Butler School Board received their first update from Facilities Management Services, which is a division of The Nutrition Group. The Nutrition Group handles the district’s food service, while Facilities Management Services, or FMS, focuses on maintenance, staffing and construction projects.
FMS has been working for over a month analyzing staffing and district assets, as well as helping to prioritize capital improvement projects. A recent investigation of Emily Britain Elementary School revealed the roof of that facility is in need of immediate repairs before winter.
The company plans to present school board members with the first draft of a comprehensive study in about six weeks, then work with administration on a regular basis to carry out an action plan that will meet district needs.
