It’s been one week since the emergency room at the Ellwood City Medical Center was shut down, and the PA Department of Health says it will remain closed indefinitely.
The Department of Health also said the hospital will no longer be able to perform inpatient services after a further investigation earlier this week.
No exact reason has been revealed for the closure, but officials say there is no timetable for when the hospital’s ER and inpatient services will return.
Those needing emergency services have been sent to nearby hospitals, including Butler Memorial.
