Chase Elliott won the Geico 500 Nascar race at Talladega Sunday. Elliott gave Chevrolet their first victory of the season, with Chevy sweeping the top four spots. Elliott took the lead with four laps to go and held off the field at the track where his Hall of Fame father Bill won twice, and set the all-time Nascar qualifying speed record. His Hendrick Motorsports teammate Alex Bowman was the runner-up.
Shawn Langdon won the Funny Car title at the NHRA Four-Wide Nationals in Concord, North Carolina Sunday. He became the 17th driver to have wins in both Funny Car and Top Fuel. Steve Torrence on the Top Fuel final for his first win of the season. Andrew Hines won the Pro Stock Motorcycle – to become the first rider with 50 wins.
