Butler County has finished the second precinct as part of their 2020 election review process—and the numbers once again are nearly identical.
County solicitor Wil White says the count was completed Wednesday afternoon. The scanners and panel of volunteers counted 1,061 ballots from the Donegal Township precinct.
He says there was only one race out of seven on a single ballot that was not counted the same by the hand counters and scanner.
There also continues to be a major time difference between hand counting and scanning. White said the Donegal Township precinct took nearly 11 hours to count by hand. Meanwhile, the machine took 26 minutes.
Now, the original plan was to count three precincts over the span of three weeks. However, White says the three week stretch comes to an end today. County commissioners say they will meet and decide how to move forward next week.
So far, the hand recount and machines have been more than 99 percent accurate through two precincts.
