(10:22pm): Butler has a new mayor, according to unofficial election results.
Republican Ben Smith defeats Democrat Jamie Lee Goehring with 60 percent of the vote, holding 1,259 votes to Goehring’s 722 votes, or 34.5 percent. There were 112 write-in votes.
In the Butler City Council race, incumbent Ken Bonus and Jeff Smith take the two seats, defeating incumbent Kathy Kline and James Kemple.

(8:55pm): Butler Mayoral Race: The first Butler City precinct is in. Republican Ben Smith leads Democrat Jamie Lee Goehring with 65 percent of the vote. There are only six write-in votes. Butler Mayor Tom Donaldson had mounted a write-in campaign following his defeat in the primary.
