Today is Earth Day….a day set aside to bring extra awareness to conserving our planet.
Justin Stockdale, Western Regional Director of the PA Resources Council, talked with Butler Radio concerning this effort. He says for over 75 years, the organization has fought to protect the environmental resources of the state.
Stockdale says the group tries to provide solutions for some environmental challenges they face. The organization offers opportunities for hard-to-collect items as well as taking care of the waste that comes from special events. That waste is managed and then the remaining is either recycled or used for compost.
The next collections with the PRC, for hard-to-collect items, will be in May. Details can be found online at http://prc.org.
