You’ll soon be able to use your E-ZPass in more states.
Currently, the E-ZPass group covers 25 states in the northeast, according to Pennsylvania Turnpike CEO Mark Compton.
“That group has been working with Florida, Georgia, Texas, and other areas where there is a high concentration of tolls roads, to find ways to be interactive,” Compton said.
Compton didn’t give an exact timeline of when the additions will happen, but said as technology improves, more states will continue to be added.
“The ways in which that stuff talks to each other is beginning to change,” he said.
There are currently two locations on the turnpike where cash is not accepted. At the Beaver Valley Expressway Toll Booth and the Delaware River Bridge Westbound Toll Booth, drivers must use E-ZPass or they will get a bill in the mail.
