A weekend fire in Butler’s Institute Hill neighborhood sent three people to the hospital.
Butler City Fire Lieutenant Don Crawford said the blaze started about 1 a.m. Saturday at a duplex in the 500 block of Carbon Street.
Firefighters had to rescue a 54-year-old woman from the second floor. She was flown to a Pittsburgh hospital for treatment of unknown injuries. A 30-year-old man and his 2-year-old daughter were also taken to Butler Memorial for treatment of smoke inhalation.
The fire is believed to have started in the kitchen but officials are still investigating.
