With the increase in the number of travelers on the roads the next several days, law enforcement officers will also be increasing their efforts to make sure that everyone gets to their destinations safely.
The State Police of Troop D, based in Butler, will be conducting roving and stationary DUI patrols beginning Wednesday and continuing through Sunday in various locations in and around Butler County.
Motorists are asked to have their license, registration and insurance cards ready, as well as to always drive sober or get a designated driver.
Nearly 400 crashes involving impaired drivers last Thanksgiving holiday resulted in 10 fatalities.
Pennsylvania’s Steer Clear Law requires drivers to move over to the lane furthest away from stopped emergency vehicles or slow down if moving over is not possible. Violators could be fined or have their license suspended.
