Authorities say a man found dead over a Pennsylvania highway guard rail was a Guatemalan man who had secreted up to $500,000 worth of heroin in his body.
The man’s body was found by a motorist earlier this month along Route 153 in Clearfield County.
Clearfield County Coroner Mike Morris said he’s working with state police and drug enforcement authorities to determine where the man got the drugs and where he was taking them.
Drug “mules” or couriers sometimes hide drugs in their body cavities or swallow drugs in balloons, which can be retrieved later.
