A drug bust led to the arrest of a suspected serial burglar in the city of Butler.
Butler City Police told our news partners at WPXI-TV that David Eberhardt, 26, had been terrorizing the city for more than a month, breaking into homes with one mission: to steal guns that he would sell to get money for drugs.
Officers raided homes on West Penn and South streets earlier this week. They confiscated four stolen guns, crack cocaine, cash and arrested six people in total, including Eberhardt. City police believe they solved at least four of the nine recent home burglaries in the city with Eberhardt’s arrest.
This is a positive outcome from the terror that has been inflicted on these homes and other homes that would have been targeted if this had carried on further. The outcome from this will show homeowners how important it is to make sure their houses are secure and safe in all areas to deter this from happening at all.
There is a myriad of ways that this can be achieved such as installing a Home alarm by the front door and potentially the back, as well as put in various security lights that will shock an intruder. Remaining vigilant is also a key factor, noticing who is in the neighborhood that has not been there before, or noticing parked cars in front of houses, buildings, etc. is important and must be reported to the authorities as soon as possible. Always keep on the lookout for nefarious activity and let’s hope this does not happen again to the community and that justice is served for the people who have been burgled.
More arrests are expected.
