Even though the price of crude oil has decreased over the past week, the high price of gas remains, causing some motorists to drive less.
According to AAA, over half of Americans said that they would make changes to their driving habits or lifestyle if the price of gas went over $4 per gallon including 80% who said that they would drive less.
Motorists should drive the speed limit to reduce aerodynamic drag, limit weight in vehicles, combine trips when possible, avoid hard acceleration, use cruise control on dry roads, and look ahead so that the vehicle can coast to a red light or stop sign.
Nearly half said that they would not change summer travel plans regardless of the price of gas.
