Gas prices have decreased slightly both locally as well as across western Pennsylvania as a whole this week.
According to AAA’s weekly gas price report, the average price for a gallon of regular, unleaded, self-serve gas in Butler, as of Monday, dropped by seven cents over the past week to land at $3.81 per gallon.
The average gas price across western Pennsylvania as a whole sank by a penny during that same time to reach $3.85. The most affordable average price for gas in the area can be found in Washington at $3.78, while the most expensive is $3.90 in Mercer.
The average national gas price dropped by three cents over the past week to reach $3.47 which is 18 cents more per gallon than a month ago and four cents more than one year ago.
Demand for gas has increased but the cost of oil dropped as a result of market concerns about a possible recession.
