State police in Butler were called to the scene of a two vehicle crash Thursday afternoon in the Portersville Boro.
According to the police report, 45-year-old Jesse Goff, of Zelienople, PA was traveling northbound on route 19 when he attempted to pass a line of cars by using the parking lane on the right side of the roadway. Goff failed to see a parked vehicle on the side of the road and ran into it. The report says that it is believed Goff never even applied the brakes before slamming into the vehicle owned by 62-year-old Joseph Rhoades of Carlton, PA.
Goff was transported to Butler Memorial Hospital to treat his injuries and received a traffic citation and Rhoades’ vehicle had to be towed from the scene.
