A woman was flown to a Pittsburgh hospital early Friday following a one-vehicle crash on Freeport Road in Jefferson Township.
The accident happened just before 3 a.m. in the 500-block of the road.
“When we got there the telephone pole was sheared off and the car was flipped on its side,” Saxonburg Volunteer Fire Chief Chris Ballina said. “The driver was pinned inside.”
The woman- who has not yet been identified but thought to be young- was flown to Allegheny General Hospital with possible internal injuries.
“It appeared she may have fallen asleep at the wheel,” Ballina said.
