The Centre City Parking Garage in downtown Butler is nearly finished and even with additional minor expenses, it still is under budget.
According to the project manager, a pay station needed to be moved in order to be in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, which added an additional $2,000 to the total installation cost. However, the project is still estimated to be about $20,000 under budget.
Although leaseholders are currently using the garage, there is still some minor work to be completed before it is fully operational- such as painting in some areas which will not take place until the spring.
According to Parking Manager Jimmy Chiprean, the kiosk network is being secured and the system is expected to be ready to use around the first week of February.
