Downtown Butler’s newest– and only- hotel is now officially open for business.
“We would like to thank everyone for coming out and supporting the SpringHill Suites Butler Centre City,” Audrianna Bly, the hotel’s general manager said Thursday. “We’ve all been waiting a very long time for this hotel to open…some longer than others.”
City leaders- past and present- were in attendance at a Butler County Chamber of Commerce mixer on Thursday that doubled as a grand opening ceremony. Those there were able to meet Bly and her staff, as well as members of the Hari Hotels ownership group and representatives from GF Management Company.
Butler City Mayor Ben Smith has heard good things about the hotel so far and thinks it will be a great benefit to the city.
“I think it’s a good sign of progress,” Smith said. “It’s certainly been a longtime coming and we’re happy to see it finally open and running. It’s a great addition for people to be able to stay inside the city.”
The 76-room hotel on East Jefferson Street actually opened back in April after two-and-a-half years of construction. It was built as part of the Centre City Project, which also included a parking garage that sits next-door and new Rite Aid convenience store in the same block.
