A severe thunderstorm ripped through Butler County Wednesday evening, leaving downed power lines, fallen trees and minor flooding in its wake.
First responders started getting calls about 7 p.m. Wednesday for downed power lines and trees. It’s estimated about 200 people in the Slippery Rock area were without power at one point.
A three-car accident was reported about 8 p.m. on Pittsburgh Road in Middlesex Township. No serious injuries were reported.
Earlier in the day on Wednesday, a large tree fell across both lanes of Route 173 in Slippery Rock Township. The tree fell about noon and blocked the road for several hours, as well as caused about 350 residents
