A local man is in prison on several charges after an incident last weekend of alleged domestic violence which led to an assault on police officers.
According to a criminal complaint, 31-year-old Joshua Luchkiw of Butler assaulted his girlfriend early Sunday morning at their residence in the 300 block of Hickory Street. The woman was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital for treatment.
Later that day around 2:30 p.m. the girlfriend called police and told them Luchkiw was back at the residence. When police responded and attempted to apprehend Luchkiw, he allegedly swore at them and kicked them, causing injuries and damage to clothing and the police car.
Luchkiw is awaiting a hearing on charges including felony aggravated assault causing injury to police and resisting arrest as well as simple assault and a probation violation.
