A local man is in the Butler County Jail following an incident of assault and resisting arrest Thursday morning.
According to Butler City Police, an unnamed woman filed a domestic violence complaint at the station just after 8 a.m. stating that 31-year-old William Shaner struck her, causing injuries. She also said that he told her if she turned him into the police, he would shoot the police.
Police responded to Shaner’s residence on Christie Avenue along with deputies from the Butler County Sheriff’s office and were able to take the suspect into custody.
Shaner has been arraigned and was booked into prison on $100,000 bond.
