State health officials say they’re encouraged by the ongoing decline in COVID cases.
During their weekly update, the Department of Health said that the state is averaging just over 11,000 new cases each day. But that number appears to be dropping at a significant rate.
They also said that hospitalizations are down about 24 percent from this time last week.
Health officials still encourage people to be on guard as COVID spreads; they also urge everyone who is eligible to get their booster shot or their first dose of the COVID vaccine.
