The Butler Area School District is continuing with the process of considering alternative food service management companies.
Proposals have been received from Metz Culinary, The Nutrition Group and Aramark. The committee handling this time-consuming process met last week and reviewed the proposals before sending follow-up questions back to the vendors.
Two companies will be chosen to make presentations to the board (including brining food to the board) in a private meeting next week (May 11). Although the proposals they have received have been a completely different approach from how the district’s food service works now, the district’s current group will have a chance to make their proposal as well.
All groups will need to meet the same standards of federal nutritional and regulations. A decision on next year’s food service provider will need to be made at the board’s May 16 meeting.
