A large number of Butler Area School District food service workers and residents supporting the food service employees attended Monday night’s school board meeting.
The district has put out a request for a proposal to companies who might be interested in taking over food service operations with the district.
Three people spoke at the meeting against the idea of making a change with how the food service program is run at Butler. The district currently employs 95 employees in food service but is open to the possibility of making some kind of transition.
Proposals are due and bids will be opened this Friday (4/22) in a meeting not open to the public. However, the public will be able to attend a special meeting dealing with this issue on May 11.
