The process to sell some of the currently unused Butler Area School District school buildings is moving forward.
A hearing for the sale of both Meridian Elementary and Clearfield Elementary will take place on June 2 at 1 p.m. in the courtroom of Butler County Court of Common Pleas Judge S. Michael Yeager.
The Butler School school board accepted a bid from Michael Wright and his business, 70E Solutions, for Meridian school for $425,000 back in March. Last month, the board accepted a $235,000 offer from CNC Malt for the Clearfield property. If other bidders come forward at next month’s hearing, the judge will consider those offers as well.
The board also anticipates an offer at next week’s meeting for Broad Street Elementary from a buyer who had expressed interest in the past. If that offer is not received, the board is considering action to market that property more widely.
The board is not taking any action on Oakland Elementary School at this time.
