A longtime district magistrate in the county is hanging up her robe.
Sue Haggerty will be stepping down at the end of this term in her role as a district magistrate in southern Butler County.
She currently oversees Saxonburg, Buffalo, Clinton, Jefferson, Middlesex, Penn and Winfield Townships.
Haggerty had been a longtime employee for district judges before being named as an interim magistrate in 1998.
She won her first full term in 2000.
Her seat will be on the ballot this year.
