The Butler Area School District is planning to donate a strip of land to a local fire department.
At a school board meeting Monday night, officials voted to donate a 25-foot wide strip of land at what was formerly Meridian School to the Butler Township Volunteer Fire District.
Butler Township VFD requested the land to deal with storm water runoff issues from their parking lot (the former Meridian Fire Station). All costs such as surveying and legal fees will be paid by Butler Township VFD.
The approval is subject to a final review of plans.
