Major retailer Dick’s Sporting Goods has destroyed millions of dollars worth of the chain’s gun supply, according to the company’s CEO.
Longtime chief executive officer Ed Stack said the company turned $5 million worth of their guns into scrap metal. This decision came after Dick’s had stopped selling assault rifles in the wake of recent mass shootings.
Stack said the decision to stop selling guns has cost the company nearly $250 million.
