The New Jersey Devils defeated the Pittsburgh Penguins 3-2 last night. The loss snapped an 11-game winning streak for the Pens at PPG Paints Arena. Sidney Crosby and Matt Hunwick scored the Penguins goals. Casey DeSmith stopped 35 of 38 shots on goal. The Pens are without goaltender Matt Murray, who was diagnosed with a concussion after taking a shot to the helmet in Monday’s practice.
The loss dropped the Penguins three points behind first-place Washington. The Capitals took back the top spot in the Metropolitan Division with a 3-2 win over Ottawa last night.
The Pens visit Boston Thursday.
