The United States Department of Justice is asking to hear from anyone who has witnessed or experienced sexual harassment by a person in control over housing.
The COVID-19 pandemic has caused many people to not be able to pay rent on time and the U.S. Attorney is investigating reports of landlords, property managers, and maintenance workers exploiting the crisis.
Sexual harassment in housing violates federal law and the Justice Department is ready to investigate allegations and enter into legal action when appropriate.
Anyone who believes that they may have been subjected to such harassment is asked to contact the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Western District of Pennsylvania online or by phone.
