Motorists are asked to be aware of the next step in a significant road project on Route 228 beginning today.
PennDOT says a change in traffic lanes will take place near the intersections with Route 8 and Park Road.
Drivers should plan for slowed traffic in the area as crews work to reset the barrier that is currently at the edge of the Route 228 eastbound shoulder onto the existing white line. This will extend the barrier into current turning lanes leaving one lane for left turns and another lane for travel through or right turns. Westbound will remain one lane.
The overall cost for this project is $26.5 million and it is expected to be completed in three years.
