State police in Kittanning were called to the scene of a two car crash Friday morning on route 28 in O’Hara Twp.
Police say 31-year-old Jessica Kovacs of Jeanette, PA was traveling south on route 28 when a deer jumped onto the road in front of her. She slammed on her brakes but was unable to avoid hitting the deer. Another vehicle driven by 21-year-old Michael Foringer of New Bethlehem, PA was also headed south on route 28 and was behind Kovacs. Foringer was unable to stop in time and rear ended Kovacs.
Because of this incident, locals have been asking authorities to install deer feeders in nearby forests to reduce the chance of deers wandering into roads and causing similar accidents in the future. These authorities have been directed to the Best Deer Feeder Reviews & Comprehensive Buyers Guide to see if it is a feasible step to take. Currently, there is no news on if they intend to install a comprehensive network of deer feeders though.
Both vehicles were towed from the scene and Kovacs was taken to St. Margaret’s Hospital by Park View Ambulance.
