Today is the deadline for candidates to submit their petitions in order to run for office.
It was an abbreviated time period for candidates to get on the ballot as the ongoing legal dispute over the Congressional redistricting dragged on until earlier this month.
All nomination petitions must be submitted by 5 p.m. today.
