Pennsylvania’s Secretary of the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources was in Butler yesterday advocating for more funding for state parks.
Cindy Dunn spoke outside of the recently damaged bike rental facility at Moraine State Park, citing it as an example of the need to use federal pandemic recovery funds to help rehabilitate infrastructure at the park.
She says that Moraine has over $20 million in infrastructure needs at the park, including the replacing and repairing of sewage lines and pumping stations.
Dunn also said the park could use funding to help repave roads, construct new comfort stations and improve the docks and bulkheads at the marina.
