The Butler County District Attorney’s Office will hire another attorney in 2019.
The office currently has seven assistant district attorneys, plus the DA…and that number hasn’t changed since the current District Attorney Rich Goldinger took office 10 years ago.
When asking the Butler County Salary Board for the position during a meeting Thursday, Goldinger said his office has a workload that ‘frankly we can’t handle anymore.’
He said although the number of caseloads have remained relatively stagnant (between 2,400-2,800/year), some of the cases are more complex with more appeals- including several homicide cases.
Also, the addition of three specialty courts has kept the attorneys “extremely busy.”
The ADA position pays about $66,500 per year with benefits and a retirement package.
