The National Weather Service has issued a Heat Advisory for Butler and the surrounding counties from 1 to 7 p.m. Wednesday (7/4).
Heat indexes are expected to peak between 100 and 103 degrees around western Pennsylvania during that time.
The heat and humidity could cause heat stress during outdoor activities or extended exposure.
Those still planning to spend time outside during the advisory should wear light-weight and loose-fitting clothing when possible as well as drink plenty of water.
