Prosecutors will seek the death penalty against a former Butler County man accused of killing his ex-girlfriend last year.
The Allegheny County District Attorney’s Office filed notice of its intent on Thursday against 21-year-old Matthew Darby.
Darby is accused of killing Alina Sheykhet in October at her house in Oakland, near the University of Pittsburgh campus.
Darby used to live in Cranberry Township and graduated from Seneca Valley High School.
