PIAA 2A semifinals:
–Rocky Grove defeated Cardinal Wuerl North Catholic 2-1. Rocky Grove starting pitcher Travis Perry held the Trojans to three hits and did not allow a run over 6-2/3rds innings. He walked three and struck out 12. North Catholic scored a run off two Rocky Grove relievers in the final inning, but couldn’t pull out the victory. Trojans sophomore starting pitcher Ryan Feczko allowed both Rocky Grove runs on five hits over seven innings. He struck out seven.
Heavy rain forced the postponement of two state semifinal baseball games and three softball semifinal games involving WPIAL schools. They are rescheduled today. The state title games are being played Thursday and Friday at Penn State.
