Andrew McCutchen hit a walk-off home run in the bottom of the ninth inning Sunday evening to give the Pittsburgh Pirates a 4-3 victory over the Arizona Diamondbacks. The Pirates had a 3-1 lead going into the ninth inning, but Tony Watson allowed a two-run home run to tie the game. Pirates starting pitcher Trevor Williams allowed just one run on four hits over six innings. Jordy Mercer remained hot, with three hits.
Pirates outfielder Gregory Polanco suffered a sprained ankle when he ran into the right-field fence attempting to catch a foul ball. He was carted off the field. Catcher Chris Stewart suffered a leg injury after hitting a two-run triple.
