The Chicago Cubs completed a sweep of the Pittsburgh Pirates following a 10-5 victory last night at Wrigley Field. Jameson Taillon allowed four runs on eight hits over four innings, and took the first loss of his career in three starts. He walked one and struck out five. The Cubs hit three home runs off Taillon. Starling Marte returned to the lineup and had three hits for the Pirates. He left a game last week after taking a fielded ball off the face.
The Bucs have now lost 10 of their past 11 games, on the heels of their second consecutive five-game losing streak. They return to PNC Park tonight to host the San Francisco Giants at 7:05pm. Pre-game on WISR 680am is 6:40pm. Jeff Locke will start for the Pirates. Madison Bumgarner will start for the Giants.
The Pirates are now 33-36 overall, 15-games behind the first place Cubs and four games out of a National League Wild Card spot.
