The Pittsburgh Penguins defeated the Tampa Bay Lightning 3-2 in overtime last night at the Consol Energy Center. Sidney Crosby scored the game-winning goal just 40 seconds into the overtime period to tie the best-of-seven Eastern Conference final at 1-1. The Penguins jumped out to a 2-0 lead early in the first period, before the Lightning tied the game before the period ended. Neither team would score a goal in the next two periods of regulation. Matt Cullen and Phil Kessel scored the other Penguins goals. For Crosby, it was his first goal of this series, and fourth of the post-season.
Defenseman Justin Schultz replaced Olli Maata in the line-up last night.
The Pens travel to Florida to meet Tampa Bay in game three tomorrow night.
