The Pittsburgh Penguins announced that captain Sidney Crosby underwent wrist surgery yesterday and will be sidelined at least six weeks. Crosby will miss the entire preseason that begins later this month, and will likely be doubtful for the Pens season opener against Tampa Bay October 12th. He has been dealing with the wrist issue for some time, and even had arthroscopic surgery back in August 2020. The Pens will also be without Evgeni Malkin for the preseason, as he recovers from knee surgery.
