
At least one person was seriously injured as a result of a crash Wednesday afternoon in Jefferson Township.
The call came into the Butler County 911 Center just before 4:30 p.m. at the intersection of Freeport Road (Route 356) and Burtner Road.
Crews from Saxonburg were among those responding to the scene to find two vehicles on the road and one person still inside. Three ambulances were needed to assist motorists.
A medical helicopter was called to land near the scene and took one person to a Pittsburgh hospital.
A portion of Route 356 needed to be shut down in that area.
